Brockton, MA- After losing their last four games and having three rained out along the way, the Bravehearts are back in the win column after leaving Brockton with a 5-1 victory on Monday night.

As seen many times before, Worcester jumped out in front in the first inning. Three straight hits by the ‘Hearts got the scoring going early. John Thrasher lead off the game with a double, which was followed by an RBI single by Christopher Rinaldi. Michael Dellicarri then advanced Rinaldi to third with a single of his own. Dustin Harris with two outs singled in Rinaldi and advanced Dellicarri to third for the second run of the game. After Harris attempted to steal second, Rox catcher Jack Arend threw down to second and Dellicarri took off for home. The throw home was not in time as Dellicarri scored and Harris advanced to second safely to give Worcester a 3-0 lead.

The Bravehearts added on to their lead in the fifth inning with two more runs. Dellicarri started off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Brett Coffel then recorded his team-leading 15th RBI singling in Dellicarri. Harris stepped up next with his second RBI of the day, ripping a double into right-center, scoring Coffel.

Starter Henry Ennen was stellar for Worcester. The righty went six scoreless innings, giving up only three hits while striking out six batters. With the win, Ennen improves to 2-0 on the season.

Brockton was able to manage their only run in the eighth inning after back-to-back errors by Mariano Ricciardi and Rinaldi.

Worcester will have a day off tomorrow before continuing their road trip in Bristol on Wednesday night. First pitch of that game is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
