'Hearts Handle Knights on the 4th

Worcester, MA— Henry Ennen pitched 7 innings, allowing just one earned run and Michael Dellicarri went 2-4 with two RBIs to give Worcester a 5-1 win. It was the fourth straight victory for the Bravehearts.

Worcester struck first in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jack Gonzalez hit an RBI double to score Dellicarri. The Bravehearts would extend their lead the next inning. With the bases loaded, Derek Adamson reached on an error by the shortstop allowing Mariano Ricciardi to score. Eddie Haus then scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to three.

Worcester scored their 4th and 5th runs in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a two-run RBI double off the bat of Michael Dellicarri. It was Dellicarri’s second double of the day.

Henry Ennen got the win and delivered one of the best performances by a Worcester starter this season. He went 7 innings, allowing just 1 run off two hits. Nashua’s only run was a solo shot that Cody Morissette hit off of Ennen. Dakota McFadden slammed the door for Worcester, pitching the final two innings, allowing one hit and no runs. Brandon Dufault picked up the loss for Nashua, going 4.1 innings and allowing three runs off five hits.

With the win, the Bravehearts improve to 15-13, while the Silver Knights fall to 10-16. Worcester continues play tomorrow at home against the Bristol Blues at 6:30 pm.
