Bravehearts and Sharks Crowned Co-Champions
Rain keeps an FCBL champion from being crowned
Oak Bluffs, MA - The Worcester Bravehearts and Martha’s Vineyard Sharks went into Monday night in a winner-take-all game three of the FCBL Championship series. The outcome, after an hour-long rain delay, was that both teams would be co-champions of the league for the first time in history instead of extending the series any further.
The teams were only able to play a little over a half inning before the game was called. The Bravehearts jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. After Mariano Ricciardi walked and advanced on an Edward Haus groundout, Dustin Harris stepped up with an RBI single, scoring Ricciardi for the first run of the game. The Sharks answered quickly in the bottom of the inning. Matt Chamberlain led off the hitting for the Sharks with a solo home run. The game was then delayed and ultimately called.
The Bravehearts would like to thank all of their fans, staff and members of the media for an incredible season.
