Worcester Breaks Attendance RecordsWorcester - In Worcester’s second Baseball in Education Day on Wednesday afternoon, 5,157 fans walked through the gates of Hanover Insurance Park. This number broke the previous record set yesterday of 4,933. For the two combined Baseball in Education days, 10,090 fans watched the Bravehearts during early afternoon action. Worcester also broke the previous Future’s Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) record of highest attendance in consecutive games, which was previously 8,514.
Before this season, the previous record for attendance at any event at Hanover Insurance Park was 4,439, which was recorded during last season’s Baseball in Education day. Through the first four games of the regular season, the Bravehearts have sold out three of those games. 1,646 fans attended opening night and 3,363 attended the first Friday Night Firework game of the season. The average attendance for this season is currently at 3,775 fans.
Worcester General Manager Dave Peterson was thrilled with the amount of fans that have already came to Hanover Insurance Park.
“I am extremely proud of this city and organization for everything that has occurred over the past week” said Peterson. “We have had to bring in extra seats to accommodate for the amount of fans that have come to the park over the past two games. We truly appreciate the love and support from our fans who are proving that Hanover Insurance Park is where Worcester spends Summer.”
The Bravehearts return to action on Saturday night against the Brockton Rox, where they expect another possible sellout crowd. |
