Bravehearts

Lynn, MA -  After getting back over .500 last night, the Bravehearts traveled to North Shore looking to continue the momentum. With three outs remaining in game two, it seemed Worcester would drop both. However, a five run comeback changed that headline. 

The offense was instant for North Shore as they were able to record a run before the Bravehearts recorded an out. Collin Wetterau led off with a single followed by an Andrew Olszak walk. Sean Lawlor singled home Wetterau to give the Navigators the lead. 

Trevor Johnson answered for Worcester in the third inning with a leadoff triple. Mariano Ricciardi tied the game with a sacrifice fly. However, Kade Kretzschmar gave the Navs the lead right back in the fourth on a solo home run. 

Insurance was added in the bottom of the sixth inning. Logan Bravo singled with one out an advanced to second after Kretzchmar walked. A double steal put him at third and a single by Keagen Calero scored another run. The 3-1 score would stay final as North Shore would take game one. 

Game two was off to a hot start offensively. Three singles by Ricciardi, John Thrasher and Mack Cheli loaded the bases for Tyler Becker who hit the fourth single of the inning brining in Ricciardi and Thrasher. North Shore however would answer in the bottom half of the first. A Wetterau double followed by an Olszak single put runners at the corners. Worcester starter Chris Keenan then also walked Lawlor and hit Colin Macko to score Wetterau. A two run double by Kretzchmar ,which scored Olszak and Lawlor gave North Shore the lead 3-2. Keagen Calero singled to bring home Macko followed by a Wetterau walked to score Kretzchmar to stretch the lead to three. 

Macko continued in the second inning with a two run home run, scoring Lawlor. They also added on in the third. Nolan Watson was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on a single before being brought home on a sac fly by Olszak. 

The Bravehearts chipped back in the sixth inning. Becker got hit with a pitch and Paul Comoulous singled to put two runners on. Joe Pesce hit them both in with a single and the lead was cut to 8-4.  

Worcester rallied in the ninth in a big way.. Ben McNeil singled, Mack Cheli reached on an error. Tyler Becker reached on a fielders choice, Comoulous then doubled home McNeil. Riley Livingston reached on another error, allowing Becker to score. Pesce singled home Becker to make the score 8-7. Nick Martin continued the rally with a base-hit to score pinch-runner PJ Barry and tie the game. With the go-ahead run on third and one out, Ricciardi stepped up and grounded to second, scoring Pesce and giving Worcester the lead. Bryce Hellgeth would then come in and record his sixth save of the season to give Worcester the win.

Worcester will have an off day tomorrow before a double header in Nashua on Wednesday taking on the Silver Knights.
