Nashua, NH– Thursday night marked back-to-back losses for the Worcester Bravehearts, as they fell to the Nashua Silver knights by the score 7-3.
Nashua got on the board in the bottom of the first. After loading the bases on three straight walks, two runs scored on a single play when a Mariano Ricciardi throw to first sailed high while trying to turn a double play.
The Silver Knights would score twice more the next inning on a fielder’s choice and a Dylan Jones RBI double.
Worcester struck back very quickly in the top of the third, when Chris Rinaldi led off the inning with a solo home run.
Nashua opened the game up in the bottom of the sixth. After loading the bases again, Dylan Jones came through for the second time, clearing the bases with a three-RBI double, making the score 7-2 in favor of the Silver Knights.
Worcester responded in the top of the seventh. Paul Coumoulos singled, and Rinaldi doubled him home, part of a three-hit, two-RBI performance for the Holy Cross shortstop.
Cooper Anibal got the win for Nashua, giving up two runs in five innings while striking out two. Worcester starting pitcher Evan Moore took the loss. He gave up seven runs in six innings pitched while walking six and striking out seven.
The loss drops Worcester to 18-17 while Nashua moves to 17-19.
Worcester is back in Nashua tomorrow for a 6:45 matchup before heading to Brockton to play a doubleheader on Saturday.
