In the past week, not one of us has been able to escape a feeling of fear, uncertainty, or anxiety about the current state of the world. Millions of people have had their jobs suspended, their children left without schooling, their businesses left without customers, their lives left without social interaction.
The Bravehearts are here, and we feel much of the same angst that you are feeling right now. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
This summer, we feel that Bravehearts Baseball will be more important to the Worcester community than ever before. College players whose spring seasons were cancelled will be anxious to get back onto the field and prove themselves. MLB scouts who missed out on almost a full season of player evaluations will be visiting Hanover Insurance Park en masse to identify the next professional superstars. Families and friends of our local players will plan reunions and celebrations at the ballpark as they finally get a chance to see their sons, brothers, nephews, grandsons, or classmates on the baseball field in 2020.
And - if everything goes as we suspect - people will re-emerge from forced isolation and begin reconnecting in a social setting with friends they haven’t seen in months. We believe that fans will still love coming to Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field. The Bravehearts will still be here, the beer will be cold, the grill will be hot, and the staff will be working harder than ever to make sure our fans have smiles on their faces. Our mission is simple: to be the safe, fun, clean, happy place Where Worcester Spends Summer.
We’re all looking forward to the moment when we can continue to bring joy into your life. In the meantime, feel free to call our office just to chat or engage with us on social media; Twitter: @WooBaseball / Instagram: @WooBaseball / Facebook.com/WooBall.
We are still here, and we’re not going anywhere.
