Bravehearts Knock Rox
The Bravehearts won 7-3 over the Brockton Rox on Tuesday, making their
overall record for the season 9-7.
The Bravehearts came out early and scored one run in the first inning. The score would stay 1-0
until the top of the third inning when the Bravehearts were able to push across another run on an
RBI to left center to make the score 2-0.
Cam Seymour (Southern Maine) hit a homerun over the
right field wall in the top of the fourth inning which drove in another run, giving the Bravehearts
a four-run lead. The Rox retaliated in the bottom half of the fifth inning and scored three runs of
their own, making the score 4-3.
The score would remain at 4-3 until the top of the seventh
inning when the Bravehearts scored another run, widening their lead and making the score 5-3.
The Bravehearts were able to score another two runs in the top of the ninth inning to make the
score 7-3. The Rox were unable to push across anymore runs of their own, making the final score
7-3 with the Bravehearts taking the win.
The Bravehearts went through several pitchers throughout the game. Jack Sefrino (Salem State)
started pitching for the Bravehearts. Sefrino walked one batter and got five strikeouts for the
Bravehearts. He was relieved by Tyson Luna (Amherst) in the top of the sixth inning. Luna
pitched for on inning and gave up one walk and had one strikeout before he was also relieved
later in the top of the seventh inning by winning pitcher Sean Scanlon (Holy Cross) who gave up
one walk and got three strikeouts.
The Bravehearts’ next game will be in Norwich, CT on Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m. against the
Norwich Sea Unicorns. The ‘Hearts will return home on Friday, June 17th to face off against the
Westfield Starfires at 6:30 p.m.
