Worcester Splits Double-Header in NashuaWorcester, MA - The Worcester Bravehearts split a double-header with the Nashua Silver Knights on Tuesday. The team earned a 11-1 mercy rule victory in game one, before falling 4-0 in game two.
The Bravehearts got started early in game one, breaking out for five runs in the second inning and four in the third. Joe Hauser (Northeastern) earned the win for Worcester going five innings giving up one run and three hits while striking out four.
Worcester’s bats were highlighted by their two and three hitters David Pedanou (Dayton) and Gavin Noriega (Marist), who each recorded three hits and two RBI in the shortened game. Pedanou also scored three times while Noriega scored twice, resulting in over half of the Bravehearts runs scored.
In game two, it was a different story for Worcester. While Noriega was able to record two more hits, and the Bravehearts in total ended with eight, the team could not push across any runs. Bravehearts starter Jack Sefrino (Salem State) went five innings giving up six hits, two walks and striking out three.
Nashua recorded a run in the first, and three more in the fourth, giving them all the insurance they would need.
The Bravehearts return home tomorrow to face the Norwich Sea Unicorns for the start of a three-game home stand. First pitch will be at 6:30 pm.
