Rox Strike Again

BROCKTON, Mass. - The Worcester Bravehearts continued their three-game losing streak by failing to
the Rox 6-1 on Tuesday. This makes the Bravehearts overall record for the season 16-24.
The game ended early in the sixth inning due to a lightning storm.

The Rox took an early lead with Cody Kashimoto (St. Mary’s) scoring on a ground-out by Mike La
Rocca (SNHU) in the bottom of the first. The lead was further compounded by three additional runs
scored in the second inning on two hits and a ground-out.

The Bravehearts struggled to get any hits in for the first half of the game, mainly due to strong defensive
plays by the Rox, and several strikeouts by pitcher Michael Quigley (Univ. of Connecticut.) This briefly
changed in the fourth when Gavin Noriega (Marist) hit a ground-rule double for the team’s first hit of
the game, and when Baldwinville’s Sebastian Mexico (SNHU) scored Worcester’s only run in the fifth.
The Rox continued to battle, scoring two more runs by the fifth.

The Bravehearts managed to get out of a third-inning jam with Jack Sefrino striking out one, followed
by Cam Caraher (SNHU) making a potentially game-saving catch that otherwise would have further
widened the Rox’s early lead.

The Bravehearts will take on the Westfield Starfies tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. The game will be
bringing back last year’s Bark in the Park promotion, where fans can bring their dogs into Fitton Field.
Tickets will be sold at the gate, and admission for dogs will cost $3.
