Worcester, MA- In their second game of the season, the Bravehearts fell 3-1 to the Bristol Blues after scoring 13 runs in their opener. Both teams went scoreless for the first five innings before Bristol broke the scoring open in the sixth scoring their first run of the game.
Lefty J.T. Morin got the start for Worcester going five scoreless innings while allowing 5 hits and striking out six batters. For the Blues, it was Michael Genaro who answered going five shutout innings as well, giving up three hits and striking out five.
For Worcester, Matt Stansky got carded with the loss going an inning+ allowing three runs with only one of them being earned.
The Bravehearts lone run came in the bottom of the sixth scored by Michael Dellicarri. After the outfielder from SUNY Oswego walked, he then stole second base. Joseph Pesce then singled in Delicarri to tie the game in the sixth inning. Pesce finished the day 2-4 with the RBI.
Blues pitcher Mark Silvestri earned the win for Bristol despite allowing the lone run. Neal McDermott picked up the save for the Blues pitching a hitless ninth inning.
Worcester has an off day tommorrow before heading out to North Shore on Saturday at 6pm. The next home game will come on Sunday against Pittsfield at 4pm at Hanover Insurance Park.
